Children’s Foot Problems
About your Children's Feet
YOUR children's feet are rapidly growing and changing all the time and can be subject to many different foot concerns.
By ensuring your child is wearing appropriate footwear from an early age you can aid in the prevention of foot and lower limb problems, improvement in gait posture and a reduced likelihood of future injury.
Many common pediatric conditions can be easily treated with modifications to sitting and sleeping positions, stretches and padding/wedges being added into footwear.
Children's Foot Symptoms
Your child may need to see a podiatrist if they are suffering from any of the following signs/symptoms:
- Flat feet
- Severs/Heel Pain
- Intoeing
- Toe walking
Children's Foot Assessment by a Podiatrist
A thorough assessment is required to determine the cause of your child's concern and the appropriate treatment where required. In some cases children can "grow out" of some conditions, however it is best to be monitored by a qualified professional.
Leah can assess and treat all other children's foot concerns including ingrown toenails, warts, arch pain and knee pain. Leah can also recommend and prescribe appropriate footwear and orthotics for your child's age, foot posture and activities.
